Seminars

The Regional Seminars

A key activity of the project is the delivery of four regional seminars. People will be invited from public bodies in the different areas to attend one of the seminars.

To date three have been delivered -

• Glasgow on 8th November
• Dumfries & Galloway on 24th November
• Edinburgh on the 9th December

The fourth will be in Inverness on the 27th January 2012.

Working with individual Experts the project managers designed the content for the four seminars.  A PowerPoint presentation was shown at each seminar and adapted slightly for each region. You can view or download the presentation at the foot of this page.

The principles were made ‘live’ by Experts talking about their experiences in relation to a specific priniciple. Three were presented by Experts at the seminar itself and three were shown on a DVD.

In addition a local Speech & Language therapist talked about creating inclusive communication environments and there was input included in the presentation about national resources such as SAIF (Scottish Accessible Information Forum) and in Edinburgh input from ‘Talking Mats’.
